British Film Commission launches inaugural ‘UK in Focus’ magazine

In partnership with MBI publications Screen and Broadcast, the British Film Commission has launched ‘UK in Focus’, a yearly publication dedicated to UK film and high-end television production, at Cannes Film Festival 2016.

‘UK in Focus’ showcases major upcoming productions across the UK’s regions and nations, highlighting UK talent, locations, facilities, studios, and the UK itself as an international production hub. The magazine features everything the UK has to offer, from diverse and beautiful locations and extensive filming space, to Oscar-winning talent and industry innovation.

Containing interviews and testimonials from major international talent, and world-renowned industry leaders in all areas of production, the magazine includes exclusive behind-the-scenes features for upcoming films and high-end television series filmed throughout the UK, including Game of Thrones, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Doctor Strange and upcoming original high-end television dramas The Crown and The Collection, to name but a few. In the foreword of the magazine, Sir Ridley Scott comments “Our world-class creative talent, our technical crews and craftspeople, plus our studios, post and VFX infrastructure give the UK the edge over global competitors”, summing up the booming UK production industry. ‘UK in Focus’ is available in print and online now, and will be distributed by Screen International and Broadcast at Cannes, Mipcom, MipTV, Media Summit, Media Production Showw, Toronto, AFM, Berlin, AFCI Locations Show and Hong Kong Filmart.
