MIPCOM is an annual global content market where TV industry leaders converge for four days of meetings, screenings and conferences. To capitalise on this gathering of the best in global TV and animation, the BFC will host a panel featuring Starz Managing Director Carmi Zlotnik, to promote the UK’s new TV and animation tax reliefs and to highlight the UK’s world-leading TV and animation production infrastructure.
Supported by UK Trade & Investment, the panel titled New UK Tax Reliefs for TV and Animation will provide an overview of the value and qualification criteria of the UK’s new high-end TV and animation tax reliefs by leading film and TV industry accountant, Moses Nyachae of Saffery Champness, plus feature a Q&A with Zlotnik, from the leading US media network, Starz. Zlotnik leads on programming and development activities for Starz Entertainment as well as overseeing production of Starz’ original series, including Spartacus, The White Queen and Da Vinci’s Demons which will shortly complete shooting its second season in the UK.
Also taking part is Oli Hyatt, Managing Director of Blue Zoo Animation and Chairman of Animation UK. Oli will share his wealth of experience of the UK animation industry and the huge benefits associated with the new animation tax relief.
The British Film Commission’s Senior Production Executive, Samantha Perahia, and UKTI’s Gina Fegan, Screen & Digital Media Specialist, will host the panel and will both be on hand to answer questions about producing high-end TV and animation in the UK.
The panel, NEW UK TAX RELIEFS FOR TV AND ANIMATION, will take place on Tuesday 8 October at 3.45pm at the Palais des Festivals, Matchmaking Lounge, Level 5.
